Over the course of 9 Days we drove our Honda Groms 1,100 Miles around Florida. This is our Moto Gear Review.
This trip was our first attempt at moto camping. While we didn’t do much camping, we had a pretty wild experience. We drove in the hot, the cold, the rain, saw tons of alligators, and even sailed a catamaran.
In that time we used quite a bit of the Gear from our Grom Touring Set-up article.
This article is our moto gear review after a trip that went from 75ºF and sunny to the 30s and rainy.
Mini Moto Touring Gear Review
The motorcycles we drove are 2019 Honda Groms. Each mini moto has a 125cc engine and a 4 Speed Manual transmission.
Our top speed on this trip, with all of our gear, was 65 Mph while on a flat, very busy, road.

Moto Gear Luggage
These bags held up great for the entire trip, Everything stayed dry, even through hours and hours of rain while we rode all day.
The Moto Gear market has a wide range of prices, and while this was on the low end, it held up great.
The bag held exactly what we needed it to, but unfortunately, some stitching came undone. We used our bungee cords on the back of the bike to mount the bag instead.
Minus the stitching that gave out, the rest of the bag worked well.
We are returning it and would recommend you check the stitching before a big trip.
Our packs are not designed as Moto Gear but they worked great for our application. We have had zero negative experiences with these packs. The rain cover held up to hours of riding in the rain and our bags stayed dry.
We highly recommend these packs.
Touring Moto Gear
This aftermarket Seat made the difference for Joe. The ability to stretch out, even a tiny bit, came in clutch on those long days on the motorcycle.
The seat did absorb some water, however, so this led to Joe having a wet butt. This is not uncommon among motorcycle seats though.
This seat gets a thumbs up from us.
Tire pressure is very important on motorcycles, not only for traction, but also for speed, and load capacity. This little pump filled all 4 motorcycle tires without needing to be charged. The auto-shutoff feature is very nice as well. Just set the pressure, in our case 29psi, and let it go until it stops.
This pump will continue to be on my Moto Gear list.
We had zero issues with our Ram mounts. They hold our phones well and allow us to use our GPS.
The only negative for us is the amount of time it takes to put the phone in and out of the mount. When we were getting on and off of our bikes frequently this becomes a bit annoying.
That is just nitpicking though, these are good quality mounts.
We love our USB ports. These kept our phones charged all day, which allowed us to GPS everywhere. The rain was never an issue with these as well. The cap weather seals very well and we highly recommend this USB as a good option.
